Flora Belle "Flo" Higgins

Flora Belle “Flo” Higgins, 84, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018.  A life-long resident of Cleveland in the Blue Springs community, she was born November 28, 1933, to Herbert E. and Anna Lee Coe. Flo was an employee of the American Uniform Company from 1967 until retirement in June 1997.  She served on the company’s Credit Union Board for 12 years and as President in 1985.  She was a charter member of Cohutta #491 General Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and member Emeritus of Dalton Chapter #65. She will be remembered as the genealogist of the family, scrapbooking for the children, family events with good home-cooking, talent for beautiful wreaths and crafts, and her beautiful flowers and shrubs.  She was a very generous lady who shared her lovely flowers with family and friends. Flo was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda Pendergrass and great grandson, Austin Michael Davis. Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Judy Pendergrass of Dayton and Bobbie (Carlon) Davis and Tom Higgins of Cleveland; brothers, J. L. (Hazel) Coe and Billy (Patsy) Coe, all of Cleveland; sisters, Peggy Holder of Cleveland and Dean Jackson of Chattanooga. Flo adored her extended family, grandchildren: Angela Tatum (Tracy) Blevins, Maria Tatum Shaver, Rachel Pendergrass (Manny) Carril,  Corey (Stacia Oglesby) Davis, and Jamie Ryan (Crystal) Davis; great grandchildren:  Timothy Hollis, Zach (Paula) Hollis ,  Caitlyn Blevins, Ian Blevins, Manuel Carril, Jonah Carril, Ashlee Davis, Anistyn Davis, LeAnn Davis, Emilee Davis; great-great grandson, Ace Hollis; and several nieces and nephews. Flo will be missed by her constant companion and best friend, Tinker Bell—her Pug dog. Her family wishes to thank Sandy Mann for her loving care and compassion during Flo’s illness. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Huff and Chaplain Manny Carill officiating.   Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.  A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 4:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
