Norman Doyle Clark

June 6, 1933 — March 1, 2018

Norman Doyle Clark, 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at a local assisted living facility.

A career banker, he retired after working for 37 years at Merchant’s Bank (now Sun Trust).  He always loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing, hiking, and working in the garden.  He enjoyed traveling, and most often could be seen behind the lens of his camera, taking pictures wherever he went.  He was quite a history buff as well, continually researching some aspect of local history, from the Trail of Tears to the Manhattan Project.  He enjoyed studying the bible and was referred to as a “bible scholar” on more than one occasion.  He was always a man of faith and a devout Christian.  He was a member of Westwood Baptist Church since its early days and served as a deacon for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Clark and Pauline H. Clark; his sister, Hazel Jones; his brothers, Ralph Clark and Celotes Clark; and his son, Russell A. Clark.

Survivors include his son, Brian D. Clark and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Clark of Boise, ID; his brother, Morris Clark of Charleston, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Candies Creek Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Kyle officiating.

His family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home.

The family is encouraging donations to Candies Creek Cemetery, Inc., 602 Moore Rd., Charleston, TN, 37310.

We invite you to send a message of condolence and view the Clark family guestbook at www.fikefh.
