James Clifford "Cliff" McConnell

James Clifford “Cliff” McConnell, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday night, January 6, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.  He served his country by enlisting in the United States Army on June 21, 1949.  He was honorably discharged on November 17, 1952.  Cliff was retired from Combustion Engineering.  He was a faithful member of East Side church of Christ.  Cliff enjoyed the art of woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Houston McConnell and Lucy Reynolds McConnell; his first wife of 46 years, Sue Still McConnell; and two sisters, Marjorie Snyder and Frieda Cronan.

Cliff leaves behind to cherish his precious memories his wife of 14 years, Henrietta McConnell of Cleveland; son, Steven McConnell and wife, Sherrie of Cleveland; daughter, Kathy Bowman and husband, Dion of Cleveland; stepson, Bryan Morrow and wife, Diana of Cleveland; grandchildren, Houston (Beth) McConnell, Grayson McConnell, Molly McConnell, Colton Morrow and Cayleigh Morrow; great grandsons, Owen and Maddox McConnell; brother, Sam McConnell and wife, Joyce of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the East Side church of Christ with Minister Jeff Archey, Minister Bill Maynard and Elder Herdis Kyle officiating. The interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors.  Houston McConnell, Grayson McConnell, Colton Morrow, Alan Snyder, Mickey Torbett and Todd Walker will serve as pallbearers. 

His family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the East Side church of Christ prior to the service.

The family requests that memorials be made to East Side church of Christ Building Fund, 252 Wildwood Avenue, Cleveland TN  37311.
