Jessie Wilbert Sanders Sr.

Jessie Wilbert Sanders, Sr., 84, of Charleston, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his residence.  He was retired from Bendix Corporation after 35 years of service.  He was an avid fisherman and loved working in his yard. Jessie was of the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Susanna Vines Sanders; son, William Sanders and several siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ollie Mae King Sanders ; children, Jessie Sanders, Jr. and wife, Wanda , Rosemary Russell and husband, William and Helen Conner, all of Charleston; 6 grandchildren, Kristy Crabtree, Melissa Hardin, Jennifer McCrary, Jessie Conner, Christopher Sanders, Amanda Sanders; 10 great grandchildren, Makayla Crabtree, T.J. Crabtree, Taylor Hardin, Sydney McCrary, Trenton Cantrell, Hannah Cantrell, Xander Cantrell, Daniel Sanders, Erin Sanders, Jacob Sanders;  sister, Marie Martin of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

The service will be conducted on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Townsend officiating.  Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Christopher Sanders, A.D. Moore, Tony Crabtree, T.J. Crabtree, David Hardin and Jessie Conner serving as pallbearers.

His family will receive friends from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
