Joseph Neil Hartert, Sr.

February 12, 1934 — August 29, 2016

Joseph Neil Hartert, Sr., 82, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 in his home with his loving wife at his side.  He was a retired business owner/ contractor who built hundreds of houses in Bradley County and surrounding areas.  He also owned and operated B & B Marina during the late 70's. He was the original owner operator of JH Pallet and Construction Company, now Woodway, Inc.

 

He was a member of St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 4572 and a Veteran of the United States Army. His family was very important to him. He loved them unconditionally and supported them in all their endeavors.  He always encouraged them and others to enjoy life in any way he could.

 

He was the son of the late Art and Lucile Hartert of Minneiska, MN.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Art Hartert, Jr. of Plainview, MN and Jim Hartert, Sr. of Winona, MN.

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie (White) Hartert: four children:  daughter, Sandy Hartert-Forshee and husband Terry of Niota, TN, sons: Ken and wife Donna, Ronnie and wife Lisa and Joe, Jr. and wife Renae all of Bradley County; siblings: brother, Richard and wife Ruth of Kellogg, MN, sister, Mary Leisen of Minneiska, MN and brother, Leigh and wife Joni of Wabasha, MN.; grandchildren: Christy Beasley, Angela Cowan, Stephanie Butler, James Faust, Dexter Hartert, Neil Hartert, Chassidy Hartert, Kristen Hartert and Brian Hartert; great-grandchildren:  Echo Hall, Kaleb Cowan, Elise Case, Bryce Cowan, Jackson Hartert, Lakelynn Faust, Thomas Beasley and Emma Beasley; and many, many nieces and nephews.

 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolan presiding. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.

 

His family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home.
