Lonnie L. Jones, Jr.

October 6, 1971 — February 17, 2016

Lonnie L. Jones, Jr., 44, of Blue Ridge, GA and a former resident of Cleveland, passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.  He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School where he played in the Bradley Marching Band.  Lonnie graduated from Cleveland State Community College and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  He graduated from East Tennessee School of Preaching in Karns, TN. 

 He began his preaching as associate minister at Central church of Christ in Cleveland where he grew up.  He served at the Essex church of Christ in Charleston, SC and also served as a minister at the Carlisle church of Christ in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  For the past seven years he has served at the Blue Ridge church of Christ.  He loved the Lord and shared it with everyone he met.

 Lonnie was a football fan of the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was a man that loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them and simple activities, including his love for the Fannin County Band.  He had a great spirit that would light up a room and a handshake that you knew you were loved. 

 He is survived by his high school sweetheart who he married in 1993, Karen Johnson Jones of Blue Ridge and formerly of Cleveland; children, Daniel, Allyson and Olivia Jones, all of Blue Ridge; parents, Lonnie and Margaret Jones of Georgetown; mother and father-in-law, Gretna and Ed Johnson of Cleveland; sister, Lori (Jason) Mull of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Kim (Travis) Herron of Augusta, GA; nephews, Ryan and Owen Herron of Augusta, GA and Spenser Mull of Cleveland; and niece, Katelyn Mull of Cleveland; grandmother, Deane Haskins Burrum of Spring Hill, TN; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special fur baby, Brownie.

 The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Central church of Christ with Ministers Dennis Morris, Keith Ritchie, Jeff Archey and Kevin Key officiating.  The interment will follow in Union Grove church of Christ Cemetery.

 His family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
