Sammy G. Pettit

Sammy G. Pettit, 74, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 in a local hospital. He was retired from TVA after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Martha Mowery Pettit; and four brothers and five sisters. Survivors include his wife, Alice Fay Pettit of Cleveland; children: Gary Wayne Pettit and wife, Misty, Shelia Evans and husband, David all of Cleveland, Mark Pettit of Benton, June Pettit and Jay Pettit, both of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Pettit and wife, Joyce of Ocoee; sister Joyce Willis and husband, Ray of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, J.C. Green, Kenneth Stone and Debbie Cantrell. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Charles Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Price Chapel Cemetery with Jewel Martin, Russell Morefield, David Evans, Walter Willis, Lynn Robinson, and Ken Bailey serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
