James Allen Russell

March 30, 1932 — February 4, 2015

James Allen Russell, 82, of Winchester and formerly of Calhoun, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at his home. He was retired from Southern Railroad after 44 years of service. He was a member of Bethel Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Clella Huling Russell; his wife of 50 years, Patricia Russell; and three brothers, D. L. Russell, Jack Russell and Charles Russell. Survivors include his wife, Luena Dorothy Stewart Russell of Winchester; children, Donna Goad and Melody Carroll and husband, Max, all of Calhoun; stepson, Rodney Stewart and wife, Mary of Tullahoma; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Chris Dodson officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Calhoun Cemetery with Sean Goad, Chad Dodson, John Russell, Scott Russell, Davy Russell and Greg Linn serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
