Claudine H. Ensley, 91, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 in a local hospital. She was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church in Murphy, NC. She was a school crossing guard for the city of Cleveland Police Dept. for 47 years, retiring at the age of 88. She touched so many lives that everyone fondly referred to her as "Granny". She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert L. Ensley; daughter, Pat Patterson; parents Taylor Henson and Lola Ledford Henson; two brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her children, Richard Ensley and wife Nancy, Donna Ingle and husband, Doug all of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Mike Patterson (Patti), Tim Patterson (Mona), Jeff Ensley, Kim Cross (Daniel), and Kel Stansell (Kristin); two sisters, Frances Garrett of Hayesville NC and Juanita Hampton of Murphy, NC; great-grandchildren: Slate Patterson, Brandon Patterson, Katlin Patterson, Jared Ensley, Cooper Ensley, Mason Cross, Caiden Cross, Keely Cross, Kyla Cross, Kellar Stansell, Kensley Stansell, Julie McBride and Josh Ingle; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverends Luther Eslinger and Cye Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with grandsons to serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
