Viola McKeehan Sledge
December 5, 1925 — January 16, 2008
Viola McKeehan Sledge, 82, a resident of Birchwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 in a Decatur healthcare facility. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved gardening and quilting.
Mrs. Sledge was the daughter of the late Birt A. McKeehan and Mary Arden McKeehan and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ross L. Sledge; two sisters, Rosa Lea Reynolds and Bessie Sue Reynolds.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Duane Walker of Birchwood; one grandchild, Dustin Walker of Birchwood; several special friends, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Malone officiating. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
