J.C. Shelton, age 64, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the family residence. He attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed outdoor activities. He was a crane operator with Siskin Steel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Smith.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Mary Lou Shelton of Cleveland; son, Tim Shelton of Cleveland; one grandchild, Kylah Shelton; two brothers, Lloyd Smith of Cleveland and Ronnie Smith of Chatsworth, Georgia; three sisters, Shirley Fortner, Dorothy Cross both of Cleveland and Margaret Fugate of Calhoun, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Gail Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in Spring City Memorial Gardens with Roger Thomas, Terry Shelton, Bill Fortner, Jimmy Stuman, Jeff Cross and Michael May serving as pallbearers.
His family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
