Harry Edward Miller

February 4, 1925 — November 21, 2006

Harry Edward Miller, age 81, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at a local health care facility. He was a member of Cookson Creek Baptist Church. He was a butcher for many years, employed by M.C. Headrick Stores, Cooke's Food Store and was the Market Manager for Gibsons and retired from Rogers Food Market in Chattanooga. Mr. Miller was veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II where he received the Victory Medal later served in Korea as a sergeant. He was a member of the V.F.W.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Miller and Ester Cain Miller; his wife of 60 years, Meadie Watson Miller and daughter, Elizabeth Foley; brothers: Jewel Miller and Jack Miller.

He is survived by his son, Harry Edward Miller, Jr. of Marietta, GA; daughters: Melinda Day of Woodstock, GA and Judy McAnally of Madison, AL; grandchildren: Stephen Randall, Candace Day, Diann Randall, Harry Edward Miller III, Crystal Stone, Becky Elliott, Andrea Eby, Angie Whiting, Erica Day; nine great grandchildren; brothers: Fred Raymond Miller of Cleveland, Teddy Miller of Signal Mt, TN; sisters: Evelyn Dodson of Allentown, PA, Ethel Elsea of Chattanooga, Lottie Miller, Shirley Jo Gates, and Ina McSpadden all of Cleveland; and Violet Ratledge of Rock Springs, GA. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Cookson Creek Cemetery with military honors. Rick Miller, Terry Miller, Stephen Randal, Bill Watson, Lane Watson and Keith Watson will be serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a release of a flock of white doves.
