Ruby Ruth Jones Roberts

August 6, 1926 — June 29, 2007

Ruby Ruth Jones Roberts, 80, a life long resident of McMinn County, passed away Friday, June 29, 2007 in an Athens healthcare facility. She loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies were cooking and canning. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from American Uniform after 33 years of service.

Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Burnette; and was also preceded in death by her first husband,David Jones; three sisters: Donnie Potter, Ella Mae Atchley and Grace Brown; one brother, John Burnette.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years Darrell Roberts of Calhoun; three sons: Jerry Jones and wife, Joan Jones of Athens, TN, Charles Jones and wife, Elaine Jones of Quebec, TN, Billy Jones and wife, Deanna Jones of Riceville, TN; three daughters: Betty Lynn and husband, Roger Lynn of Cleveland, TN, Linda Brackett and husband, Bill Brackett of Calhoun, Jean Shaw and Mike Shaw of Calhoun; daughter-in-law, Kathy Atchley of Riceville, TN; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gussie Ogle of Dalton, GA and Mary Bunch of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Reverend Max Redman officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
