May Ruth Green, age 85, a resident of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2006 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility. She was a long time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church at the time of her death. She retired from Magic Chef after 40 years of service. Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and May Griffin Beaty and was also preceded in death by her husband Bill Green and three brothers: Leonard Beaty, C.L. Beaty and Tommy Beaty.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Parker of Chattanooga; two grandchildren: James "Buzz" Parker and Jami Parker both of Chattanooga; two great-grandchildren: Olivia Parker and Patrick Parker; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Mickey Rainwater and Pastor Bill Beaty officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Cooksey Shugart, III, Greg Beaty, Bob Beaty, Rudy Beaty, Clinton Beaty, Hubert Conley, Jr., Hubert Conley, Sr., Rickey Beaty and Corey Shugart serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
