Fred A. Evans, Jr.

October 25, 1929 — December 29, 2007

Fred A. Evans Jr., 78, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday December 29, 2007 in Skyridge Memorial Hospital of Cleveland. He was a member of Community Hall Church where he was loved by all. Mr. Evans was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a great friend to all that knew him. A man that loved life. An avid reader of the Bible who loved his Lord and Savior.

He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School, class of 1949. Mr. Evans served with the 82nd. Airborne division of the US Army during 1952-1957. He was employed with Bowater Paper Mill for 34 years in the finishing and shipping dept. He was a member of the Chattanooga Ostomy Association.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick A. Evans, mother, Nancy Lillie Weese Evans, brothers; Herbert Evans, Jackie Evans, Spencer Evans, Henry Evans, Kenneth Evans and William Evans, sisters; Juanita Evans Scoggins, Frances Evans Prather and son, Joey Alan Evans.

He is survived by a loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Ruby Beeler Evans, sons; Mark A Evans and wife Sharon and Tracy Evans and his wife Kerry, grandchildren; Josh Evans, Zachery Evans, Dylan Evans and Skyler Evans, brother; Howard "Bobby" Evans and wife Sharon of Romeoville, ILL., sisters; Cordie Davis and husband Marvin, Barbara Huff and husband Bobby of Cleveland.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, December 30. 2007 at the Fike Funeral Home with services following at 8:00 P.M. with the Reverend Jeannie Cissom and special friend Terry McGuire officiating. Graveside services will be Monday at 11:00 in the Fort Hill Cemetery. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony. N.C. Cartwright, Donnie Pritchard, Charlie Gregg, Michael Stevison, Jimmy Evans, Greg Davis, Gary Davis, Henry Evans and Michael Evans serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Community Hall Church.
