Jim Elliott, age 71, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Thursday evening in a local hospital. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. In his earlier years, Jim was instrumental in bringing ASA Softball to Bradley County and was the first softball commissioner. He was well known in the car and the guard dog business. For the last several years, he and Melba were best known for their karaoke shows where most people know him as Karaoke King. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leemon and Mildred Kirksey Elliott.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Davis Elliott of Cleveland; son, Steve Elliott of Cleveland; daughter, Sherry DeArmond of Cleveland; three grandsons: Jason Elliott of Cleveland, Jamie DeArmond of Virginia, and Matthew DeArmond and of Texas; brother, Richard Elliott and wife Carol of Cleveland; nieces: Michelle Qualls and Chassie Elliott; and great niece and nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
