O.D. Davis, 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away July 23, 2007 in a local hospital. Mr. Davis was a member of Cohulla Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter and he and his wife also owned and operated the "Chocolate Pot" for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Davis and Della McMillin Davis and three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Virginia L. Davis of Cleveland; sons: Richard Davis and wife, Patricia of Woodstock, GA, and Gary N. Davis of Cleveland; five grandchildren: Neil Davis, Keith Davis and Tracy Davis all of Atlanta, Sharon Silvers of Old Fort, and Linda P. Davis of Nashville; eight great grandchildren; three sisters: Mildred Beaty Maples, Wilma Nipper and Barbara Cope and husband, Buddy all of Cleveland; and special niece, Billie Roden of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Reverend Danny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with grandsons and great grandsons serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
