Allen "Jo" Roy Johansen

February 19, 1944 — December 4, 2020

Allen “Jo” Roy Johansen, 76, of Cleveland, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born February 19, 1944 in Camas Valley, Oregon. He joined the United States Army in 1961 and served until 1967 in Germany, where he met his wife.  After discharge they moved to the USA to Cleveland, TN, and have lived in Cleveland for 51 years.  He served as a Captain in the Tennessee State Guard 4th Brigade Military Police.  He was employed with Catnapper/Jackson Manufacturing for 30 years as a Supervisor.  He enjoyed ham radio, computer broadcasting, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren.       

He was preceded in death by his mother Edna Johansen Taylor and father Harold Johansen; siblings Wayman Schmit, Nina Sparenburg, Daniel Johansen, Jack Johansen, Leonard Atkinson, Debbie Scroggins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Karl and Helen and two brothers in law Helmut and Kalheins and sisters-in-law Karin and Werner Wenzel of West Germany. 

Survivors include his wife of 56 years Charlotte Johansen (Lilo), daughters  Beverly (Johansen) Limburg and husband Chris and Heidi Johansen; grandchildren Corissa (Limburg) Stringer (but daughter by choice) and husband Charlie, Allan Limburg, and twins Dillon and Dylan Pierce;  great grandchildren Tucker, Tyson, Trevon, and Bryona Stringer all of Cleveland; siblings Phyllis McDonald, Rick Johansen, Anna Davis, Edith Wilson, Leonard Greenlee, Penny Breedlove, Joseph Atkinson, and O.C. Fisher; very special sister in law Darlene Johansen; several nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with his nephew Pastor Raymond Allbright officiating.  Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Charlie Stringer, Allen Limburg, Dillon Pierce, Dylan Pierce, Tucker Stringer, Tyson Stringer, and Trevon Stringer will serve as pallbearers.  

His family will receive friends Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 2:00-4:00pm at the funeral home.
