Belva Deane McAlister

April 13, 1937 — November 5, 2020

Belva Deane Armstrong McAlister, a lifelong resident of Charleston, Tennessee, went home to be with Jesus, Thursday, November 5, 2020. She passed away peacefully at Tennova Healthcare. Born April 13, 1937, to the late A.B. and Lillie Belle Armstrong, she was a proud graduate of Bradley Central High School Class of 1955. She enjoyed the many get-togethers of this class over the years. A homemaker and loyal Kmart employee for twenty years, she enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband, shopping trips, and spending time spoiling her grandsons. Belva Deane was a member of Council Baptist Church. She was a caring and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Her husband of  60 ½  years, Jack McAlister, preceded her in death, as did her two sisters, Martitia Collins and Nancy Chapman, and daughter-in-law, Glenda McAlister. Also, she had lost a dear grandson this year-Eric Freeman McAlister.

Survivors include her daughter Kim Covington and son-in-law Charlie of Cleveland; son, Keith McAlister of Panama, Central America; grandson Ephram McAlister of Manchester, TN; grandson, Chas Covington and his wife Leanna of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her brother Jimmy Armstrong, and brothers-in-law David Chapman and Denver McAlister and wife Mary, all of Cleveland, as well as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Council Baptist Church Cemetery with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.

Belva Deane’s family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
