Charlyne Ann Foster

January 16, 1940 — February 6, 2022

Charlyne Ann Foster, 82, of Knoxville and formerly of Cleveland passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Charlyne was born January 16, 1940 to the late LT. Charles Leslie and Gertrude Harmon Foster. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School, Middle Tennessee State College where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she earned a degree in Master of Science Social Work.

She taught sophomore English at Bradley Central High School and she was a Protective Case Worker with the Bradley County Welfare Department. Charlyne also was the Regional Social Service Supervisor Region 2, in Knoxville and the Coordinator of Healthy Children Initiative Tennessee Department of Health and Environment in Knoxville, and the Director of Social Services Development and Genetic Center UT Hospital in Knoxville. She also served as Senior Therapist at Overlook Mental Health Center in Madisonville, TN.

After retirement from the State of Tennessee in 1994, she began a private practice in Psychotherapy in Maryville, TN as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her uncle, Herbert Harmond; and sister-in-law, Ruby Alieen Foster.

Survivors include her brother, Jack Foster, of Crandall, GA; nephew, Michael Foster and wife, Deetra Foster of Crandall, GA; 3 great nieces and nephews: Chelsea Foster, of Cleveland, John Hall, Jr., and Easton Foster both of Crandall, GA; three great-great nieces and nephews, Landon Lowe, Conner Foster, and Gracie Foster all of Cleveland.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022 at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Alta Raper officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with John Hall, Jr., Michael Foster, Paul Conrad, Easton Foster, P.D. Doss, and Josh Doss serving as pallbearers.

Her family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
