David C. Jenkins

November 11, 1971 — September 5, 2021

David C. Jenkins, 49, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021.  He was born November 11, 1971 in Athens and was raised in Cleveland.  He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and was owner/operator of Jenkins Deli.  David was a long standing member of the Cleveland Elks Lodge.  To know David and to feel his presence was to feel light within you.  David will be remembered and celebrated by the community and all who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.P. and Mary Catherine Callahan and D.B. and Mary Jenkins.

Survivors include his parents, William (Renee) Jenkins, Sr. and Catherine “Kay” (Don) Cowan; brother, William (Becky) Jenkins, Jr.; sister, Seressa Jenkins (Jim) Austad; nieces, Kristen (Clarke) Taylor and Callie Austad; nephews, Chase Jenkins and James Austad; and great nephew, Thomas Taylor.

Most importantly, David will continue to live through his wife, Shelly, daughter, Chandler and his grandchildren, Lilly and Lukas, all of Cleveland.  They enable his spirit and his unconditional love for others.

His family will receive friends from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday at Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be at New Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Harper officiating.
