Erma Ruth Smith

Erma Ruth Smith, 92, of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at her home. She was a former member of Corinth Baptist Church for 30 plus years, but had not been able to attend in recent years. She also attended South View Church of God and Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Erma loved to attend church and was always there when the doors were open. She loved church music and wrote and sang her own songs. Erma loved and taught the children in the church, she was always looking out for their best interest. Her own grandchildren knew and loved the Lord because of her influence. She attended the Senior Activity Center frequently where she played bingo, danced and listened to Gospel singing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Agie and Maude Suddath Stamey; husband and father of her children, Arthur Charles Williams, Jr.; husbands, Auburn Lea and Raymond Smith; and several siblings.

Survivors include her children: Larry Williams (Susan) of McDonald, Cheryl Stander of Cleveland, Terry Williams and Arthur “Hoppy” Williams (Donna) all of Edgewater, FL, and Ronnie Williams (Lisa) of Port Orange, FL; 23 grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Melissa Scannapiego and her family who she lived with for the last several years; 41 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Lou Owen of Harriman, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with Alex Morgan, Brandon Morgan, Josh Stander, Jacob Stander, and Bear Scannapiego serving as pallbearers. A White Dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Her family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday July 19, 2021 at the funeral home.
