Obituary of Ethel Lucy Neloms Thomas Ethel Lucy Thomas , 96 of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday morning, October 10, 2022. She was of the Church of God faith. Preceded in death by: her parents, James and Judie (Vest) Vess of Knoxville, Tennessee; three brothers and nine sisters; three children, Raymond Neloms, Ada Akins, and Jerline Huff; and her husbands, George Neloms and Olen Thomas. Survivors: step-daughter, Patricia (Don) Brown of Knoxville, Tennessee; step-son, Randy Thomas of Knoxville, Tennessee; step-sons, Jim and Chuck Thomas of Florida; grandchildren, Michelle Ciferri, Tonya Akins, Tawana Moriarty, Allen Garner and Scott Garner; her great grandchildren, Dalton Ciferri, Travis Ciferri, Kyler Garner, Keaton Garner and Isabella Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. Ethel was blessed to have her sister, Maggie Lewis, to live with her for 22 years in Cleveland, Tennessee, after the death of her second husband , Olen. She retired from Duracell Battery and active member of Westmore of Church of God. In her last five years she was a resident at Sage Bluff Nursing Home in Fort Wayne Indiana. She made lots of friends and loved to play bingo and go to church services. She was known to staff there as (Grandma) Ethel, she loved her caretakers always reminding them she was praying for them. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday October 17, 2022 in the funeral chapel of Fike Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Smith officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday. *Note the Interment will not take place until 10:00 AM on Tuesday October 18, 2022 in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
