Janet Jones Bender

Janet Jones Bender of Jacksonville, Florida passed away December 21, 2020.  She was born in Alabama on February 3, 1924.  She grew up in Florida, and attended the University of Chattanooga where she met and married Bill Bender.  Janet and Bill began their business careers in Cleveland as managers of the local Sherwin Williams Store.  They later joined the insurance agency, Cornutt, McIntire and Bender.

In 1969 Janet and her husband, Bill, founded Bender Realty, a leader in local real estate.  They served the Cleveland area until their retirement to Florida in the 1980’s.  She was a member of the St. Williams Catholic Church of Naples, FL. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Annetta Arendale Jones; father, Hal L. Jones, Sr.; husband, Bill Bender; and brother, Hal L. Jones Jr. 

Janet is survived by three sisters, Catherine Jones Rollo, Sarajane Jones Brock and Hally Jones Krogh; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a private burial.
