Margie Prince McAlister

Margie McAlister, aged 91, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2023. She was a pillar of her community and was the oldest devoted member of Council Baptist Church. She enriched the lives of her fellow churchgoers through her unwavering faith and active involvement. Margie was also active in the Eastern Star and Ruritan N Lee Charleston Chapters. Margie retired after dedicating 20 years of her life to the BellSouth Phone Company.

Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Neil McAlister, and her parents, Jake and Mae "Goins" Prince. She is survived by her aunt, Clara Goins Guilleaume of Laughlin, NV, special cousins and caregivers, Jonny Goins Headrick (Bill), David McAlister (Rhonda), John Moore, and special caregiver Sandra Booher (Richard), as well as numerous cousins, family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 11 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Pastor Keith Watson officiating. Margie will be laid to rest on Monday, October 9, 2023, at 11 am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A special thanks to pallbearers; Jack Sanders, Lance Sims, Richard McAlister, Andrew McAlister, Matthew Moore, and Keith McAlister.

Margie McAlister's legacy of faith, community involvement, and dedication to her profession will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will continue to inspire us. 

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Council Baptist Church, 1415 Upper River Rd NE, Charleston, TN 37310.
