Mark Anthony Thompson

Mark Anthony Thompson, 56, of Benton, TN passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the owner of Thompson’s Body shop and a well known body repairman and paint specialist. He had a love of old cars and trucks and going to car shows.  Mark loved his family so very much and enjoyed racing motorcycles with his sons. Mark liked spending time in the mountains, mountain biking and camping.  He was a life-long resident of the area and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Mark was a loving husband, father, son and brother.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Garry Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Thompson of Benton; his parents, Willard and Ruth Thompson, of Cleveland; children, Garrett and Grayson Thompson and sister, Patricia West and husband, Ralph; niece and nephews, Brittany Finnell, Aaron Finnell and Michael Finnell; several great nephews and one great niece and all his lifelong friends that loved and supported him throughout his illness.

A private family graveside will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Mike Hazelwood officiating.

A Celebration of Mark’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society; 651 E 4th St , Ste 200, Chattanooga, TN 37403.
