Opal Lee Gates Bradam

Opal Lee Gates Bradam, 80, of Athens, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 in a Cleveland hospital.  She was born January 7, 1940 in Cleveland to the late Icye Morgan Gates and R. D. Gates.  Opal worked at Bradley Nursing Home as a CNA for many years until she retired.  She loved reading books, working in her garden, canning and raising her rabbits.  Our hearts ache with sadness at the loss of our wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and most of all, friend.  Opal was loved by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Bradam.

She leaves behind a loving husband of 63 years, Richard A. Bradam of Athens; son, Ricky Bradam of Benton; daughters, Teresa Crittenden of Dothan, AL and Toni Dalton and Allison Elmore, both of Cleveland; nine grandchildren, Lynzi Lanier, Candace Bradam, Makayla Elmore, Austin Bradam, Britteny Bradam, Kasey Crittenden, Allenia Crittenden, Kellsey Crittenden and Ashton Crittenden; and seven great grandchildren, Alyssa Lanier, Isaiah Bradam, Neyland Bradam, Ryder Bradam, Nolan Weaver, Raylinn Crittenden and Gavin McCrummen.

There will be no service at this time.
