Peggy Ann DeFriese McCallie

Peggy Ann DeFriese McCallie, 90, passed peacefully from this life to her eternal heavenly home on August 30, 2021.  She was born on July 29, 1931 in Birchwood, Tenn., to parents Oscar N. and Ruth Elmore DeFriese.  Peggy was faithful to her church, New Liberty Baptist, and retired after 29 years of service at the Birchwood School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Julian Eugene DeFriese.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth Ray McCallie; their four children, Diane (Donnie) Swafford, Eugene (Shirley) McCallie, Sarah (Buzz) Parker, Suzanne (Lee) Bradford; seven grandchildren, Matthew Swafford, Ashleigh Hodge, Holly Worley, Heather Morrow, Hunter Bradford, Olivia and Patrick Parker; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

With deep regrets, taking into consideration our current health crisis and wellbeing of family and friends, the immediate family will gather for a private graveside service with the Reverend Johnny Jones officiating.
