Scott Moore

July 8, 1973 — December 16, 2020

Scott Moore, 47, passed away on December 16, 2020 at his home in Cleveland, TN surrounded by his family and friends. Scott proudly served as a deacon at Union Grove church of Christ in Cleveland.

He served in the Tennessee Army National Guard with 3 combat deployments to the Middle East. Scott received several medals including: Tennessee National Guard Distinguished Service Medal, 2 Bronze Star Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, 3 Army Achievement Medals, The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, and Tennessee National Guard’s Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year. After 22 years of service, Scott retired as Battery/ Company, First Sergeant (E8). He loved being a soldier.

 Scott went through the Electrical Apprenticeship N.J.A.T.C. Local Union 175 and in 2001 graduated the program to become a Journeyman Wireman with the I.B.E.W. Local Union 175. Scott worked for many different shops throughout his career and could do anything they gave him to do. In 2014, Scott became an Electrical Apprentice Instructor with the N.J.A.T.C. Local Union 175 for 5th year apprentices. He would give his apprentices a hard time, but he was proud of them all. He took pride continuing his education in the trade, graduating from the National Training Institute for Electrical Instructors. Scott was a certified instructor in OSHA, BLS/First Aid, and NFPA 70E trainer. In 2016, Scott graduated from Chattanooga State Community College with an Associate of Applied Science-Applied Technology Management. Scott loved his family and bragged on his kids often. He loved to send selfies to his wife and videos of him singing to her. He also had a favorite toy-his Fatboy Harley Davidson. He would just start it to hear it run and loved riding it.

Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle Moore; children, Parker, Jessie, and Levi; parents, Wanda York of Homosassa, FL and Alvin Moore of Kimball TN; brother, Keith Moore (Kellye) of South Pittsburg, TN; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe McCown, Pierce Hughes, and Kenny Jackson.

The service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Minister Roger Campbell officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pierce Hughes, Joe McCown, Kenny Jackson, Jeremy Haynes, Arthell Clark, and Roy Parson serving as pallbearers. 

His family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
