Terry Wilson

Terry Wilson, 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He worked for Magic Chef in Cleveland from 1962 to 1972, starting out in production and later worked with the company truck fleet. Terry moved to McKee Baking Company in 1972, working with their company truck fleet until he retired in 2010, with 38 years of service. He made many friends at both companies, which he cherished even after retirement.

He loved life and enjoyed many hobbies, such as fishing, bowling, classic cars, music and talking to people.  Terry never met a stranger.

Terry and his fishing buddy, Watson Horne, had many stories to tell of their capers on the water, such as Watson dropping his keys in the water and trying to out run the storm.

He was an avid bowler since 1962, bowling in many leagues and tournaments over the decades, developing great frriendships and visiting several states when participating in tournaments.  Twenty-six of those years, he bowled on various teams with his daughter, Nicole and son-in-law, Joe.  He also bowled in a Junior/Adult league with his now son-in-law, Tim, which they won first place and was a special time and memory for both.

Terry was a great husband, dad, Papaw, and friend.  He was a true blessing to have known and loved and will be truly missed by his family and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Alva Wilson; brother, Robert Wilson; sister, Kathryn “Kitty” Merriman-Kendrick; and beloved in-laws, Elizabeth and Albert Crumley.

Terry is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda; daughters, Nicole Morgan and husband, Joe, and Holly Walker and husband, Tim; three grandchildren: Tanner, Alex, and Aubrey Walker; sister, Jean Schmidt; several nieces and nephews; special lifelong friends: Doug Pirkle, Preston Jones, and Glenn Williams; and too many friends to list. He treasured each and every friendship.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with a remembrance of life service on Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Richie Halversen and Pastor Marvin Kirkpatrick officiating. The interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Joe Morgan, Jr., Tim Walker, Ray Walker, Dennis Crumley, Richard McAllister, and Ralph Bryan serving as pallbearers. Tanner, Alex, and Aubrey Walker, Doug Pirkle, Preston Jones, and Glenn Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers.
