Verlyn B. Corbin

Verlyn B. Corbin, 87, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at a local hospital.  He was a retired truck driver.  Verlyn was a veteran of the United States Army and also retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Army Reserve after 30 plus years of service.  He enjoyed working his land and farming, watching professional sports and traveling when he could.  Most of all, Verlyn, loved being with his family and taking care of his beloved wife.  He was a member of East Side church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Zona Cawood Corbin; two sons, Greg Leonard Corbin and Craig Corbin; granddaughter, Christy Corbin; sister, Angie Ann O’Daniel; and brothers, Paul T. Corbin, Johnny Corbin and Gary Austin Corbin.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Bonnie Reed Corbin; his son, Verlyn A. Corbin of Cleveland, stepchildren, Paul L. Brown and wife, Dawn of Riceville and June Fox McGhee and husband, Jack of Nashville; grandchildren, Jeremy (Georgette) Corbin, Joey Corbin, Sean (Amber) Earls, Charity (Travis) Jones, Rebecca (Justin) Caldwell, Brian Corbin, Ezra Acebedo, Tony (Inga) Acebedo, Joe Acebedo, Asia Acebedo, Paul K. Brown, Heather (Mike) Corcoran, Brandon (Kari) Fox and Matthew (Molly) Fox; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda (Herdis) Kyle and Glenda Adams, all of Georgetown and Elizabeth Mullins of Cumming, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with Minister Bill Maynard officiating.  Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors. 

His family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
